Recently I took another abandoned location trip, this time to this old Sanitorium. Don't ask me what a Sanitorium is, cause I don't really know. From what I can tell it's sort of like a cross between a hospital and hotel...
Anyways, this was a smaller building that I guess supplied the power to the big building. Holes in the ceiling and walls provided some interesting lighting.
Yes! I wanna go!!! or at least tell me how to get to these places. THe photograph caught some really beautiful colour imagery but then again, i have nothing to compare it to * ahem * . And you're right: the lighting was beautiful. Personally i'd wanna see more intimate compositions on the walls and of the turbine. maybe it will come?
It was a tough decision on the color...whether to tweak it to a warm or cool or neutral hue. I'd actually be up for suggestions on what would be the best.
A sanitorium is an insane asylum, dear The politically correct term, or something like that. Sorry I've never commented on your art - I suck at the commenting business.
I'm particularly drawn to the vibrant greens in the background and the rainwater stains on the old walls. With the turbine (I guess?) in the foreground, they really add character both to the location and to the composition. Looks like a neat place to visit (and by neat, I mean I like places that have the potential to scare the ever living hell out of me).

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
